5 Career Tips from Arianna Huffington5 Career Tips from Arianna HuffingtonAs founder of the popular site TheHuffington Post and now founder and CEO of Thrive Global, its no wonder that Arianna Huffington has become an inspiration to entrepreneurs around the world. And as many business leaders in the 21st century, Arianna has used zu sich platforms to also advocate for health- the importance of sleep in particular. In a recent interview with Jess Barron of Livestrong, Arianna outlined several tips she deemed pertinent to achieving success1.Be UnflappableShe urges workers to be in the eye of the hurricane as much as they can and instead of growing a thick skin, to listen to what is around you. There will always be criticism, but listening to criticism is valuable. If its criticism you cant learn from, then stay on your course so you can achieve what youve got in mind.2.Put Your Own Oxygen Mask on FirstFocus on not always putting those around you first, because then you can get left beh ind. Dont run on empty, because it will diminish your ability to be successful. If you are taken care of, then you will have more energy to give to the things that matter (work, family, friends, etc.). 3.Unplug When Youre on VacationDont stay up with work while on vacation. Write a good out-of-office email, indicating who to contact if the email is an emergency. By knowing that all of the urgent emails are taken care of, it helps you relax and recharge. Being always on is not going to help anyone, especially you.4.Take Care of YourselfFor Arianna, getting a full nights sleep and exercising enables her to be more creative in her workday. By prioritizing your wellbeing, youre going to place the best bets on yourself. She quotes Rumi as an inspiration to live life as if everything is rigged in your favor because if you have a positive outlook on circumstances, then its most likely that good things are always around the corner.5.Make Time to ReadIn addition to having written 15 books he rself, Arianna advises reading to keep your brain active and constantly learning. Shes currently reading Meditations by Marcus Aurelius, which focuses on weathering storms and still remaining steadfast in who you are, her advice is to pick up works that will inspire and motivate you.Watch the full interview below
